Score!
This week we "kicked" off something new for the girls.
Soccer!
We decided that a spring sport with a little more action
may be a bit more appealing than standing on the t-ball field.
Plus this "team" came highly recommended from a good friend.
Now the girls get to play with their friend.
Sammy has a playmate on the sidelines.
and the adults...
well we get to
enjoy spring evenings rushing dinner into our children,
lacing up cleats, applying shin guards, promoting water breaks
and cheerleading together!
Natalie starting off
Girls ready to "kick" off
Practice drills
Soccer freeze tag
"Watch out Natalie!"
Amelia going for the goal
One-on-one scrimmage
(between two Amelias)
Tonight was the second night and at the end of practice
their group had a small scrimmage.
During this event the girls hung out in the goal with 3-4 other kids.
On the car ride home I inquired as to why they did not go out after
the ball like everyone else.
Amelia's exasperated answer, "Uh, Mom...we were on REFENCE that's why.
Our job was to keep the ball out of the goal.
that's what REFENCE does."
Of course Amelia...I should have known.
REFENCE...what was I thinking : )

Superior Family Photos
Part of our family Easter tradition over the past couple years
is to spend time at Lake Superior.
Now we have not gone every year
or managed a family photo every year for that matter.
But I thought I would post all that we have
and the most recent one too!
2007
Girls 1 year old
2010
Girls 4 years and Sam 1 year
(we did not go in 2008 and in 2009 we did...
but Sam was only 1 month then and organizing
a family photo was next to impossibe.)
2011
(Girls 5 years old and Sam is 2 years)
2012
(Girls 6 years old and Sam is 3 years)
It was a great trip full rock throwing, kite flying and family fun!
Its amazing to look back at the photos.
I like to think the adults are not changing much.
But I know we are...
in ways that we are grateful for.
Thanks kids...its sure been a wild ride.
Think you can slow down a little?
Your Dad and I...we're spent! : )

this sweet adorable boy....
no longer sleeps like this...
but instead now has freedom...
let the games begin.

Evidence
Do you know what this is?
its a tool...
its evidence...
of a crime committed...
right here in this pan...
and here is the thief caught in the act!
What did he steal?
why...frosting of course...
right off the cinnamon rolls!
And then the little crook
has the nerve to use his sticky fingers on my iPad.
Or maybe he is just calculating the number of calories
he just consumed.
You decide. : )
*note: No children were harmed in the making of this blogpost.
The oven was off and the pan was cooled or
it would not have been on the edge.
Though the guilty party may have had to serve some time.
A lesser sentence was enforced as he did plead guilty.
smart boy.

The first of many??
A few weeks ago the girls came home with something special.
Something every parent rejoices in.
Something that is really small in the big picture of life.
Yet this something makes us proud all the same.
This picture is courtesy of their teacher
and was taken at an all school assembly.
Amelia's "Fabuloso" award for kindness at school
and setting a good example for others.
and
Natalie's "W.O.W" academic award for counting
to 100 by 5's and 200 by 10's.
Two awards on the same day.
Maybe it was planned that way to prevent hurt feelings.
It certainly makes it easier for us.
Regardless...
I'd like to think that these two kindergarten awards are
the first of many more to come!
Congrats! Girlies!
We love ya!
