First Prize

As the summer is coming to an end and the school year is about to begin I tried today to get a photo of all three of the kids for my desk at work. Anyone who has ever tried photographing children knows that some days it is a challenge similar to completing a triathlon. Today instead of tackling the swim, bike and run portions of the race I had to conquer Natalie, Amelia and Sam. After multiple attempts and many bribes I think I may have won first prize.

Skol Vikings!

In honor of the upcoming football season Sam decided to show his support for our local team!

Do you like the helmet? It is a work of art from
my good friend Caryn. She is amazing with knitting needles.
She taught me to knit years ago but this piece of yarn work is
something that would take me months to make. Knowing her
she whipped this helmet up in a few hours.

It even has the trademark Viking horns!

I know the football is all the wrong colors but it is the
only small one we have in the house. That football is actually from
Mike's alma mater. And don't even get me started on how
much Mike is into that football team.

Every sports loving Dad dreams of watching the games
with his kids. The girls have no interest right now...but Sam
is enthralled...mostly by the amazing colors on our big t.v.
The big t.v. that will be around for the first
time for the entire football season.
I am not so sure much will get done around my house this fall.

But then again it may not be so bad.
If the girls are busy playing "kitchen and picnic" downstairs
with their toys on their side of the t.v. room
and Sam is on Mike's lap enjoying the light show.
Me...why I might just go missing...
a game lasts about three hours, right? : )

Pearly Whites

Dentists would be proud of our girls who started brushing at a young age.

July 8, 2007 (17 months old)
Amelia in blue and Natalie in white

As time has gone by the girls have advanced in their toothbrush styles. Starting with Winnie-the-Pooh to Dora to Elmo and most recently........PRINCESS!

The girls were so excited about their new PINK PRINCESS toothbrushes that they love to brush their teeth multiple times a day. In fact upon seeing these toothbrushes for the first time Amelia exclaims, "Thank you Mama, thank you. You are the best! The Best!" She didn't quite think so today when I told her she could not have jelly beans for breakfast.

10 Reasons Sam Should Have Been a Girl

Three and a Half

You see these girls who like to pretend that they know how to read junk mail?

As of last Thursday they are now three and a half. Considering their old age and that we are sick of three kids in diapers these big girls will be starting potty training boot camp on Monday.

Wish them luck! Or maybe their parents instead. : )

5 Months

Sam is 5 months old today and many things about him have changed since March. One of the biggest changes we have seen is in the size of our little boy.

He has gone from...

chicken legs

to...

HAM HOCKS!

Makes you want to squeeze them, doesn't it?
