Apple Picking!

This past weekend we had our yearly fall outing to the apple orchard. The girls loved picking and eating apples. However I think the highlight of the trip was feeding the animals at the petting zoo.

Enjoy a few pics from our fun day!

To all parents out there I beg you...

please please please do not send your children back to daycare before they have fully recovered from the stomach flu.

The effects of your actions can be catastrophic to some families. These poor girls spent about 10 hours yesterday with their little bodies in turmoil. Today is just a day of rest and recovery.

Along with Natalie and Amelia three other kids from daycare fell ill after exposure to one particular culprit. As for the rest of us...so far so good....even our little Sam is staying germ free. Please pray that we have fought this bug and won the battle!

Labor Day Laugh

Tonight Natalie and Amelia were busy creating masterpieces with their arts and crafts supplies. My job was to entertain Sam in his bouncy seat and supervise the marker usage. At one point I was playing with Sam jiggling a toy in his face when Natalie says to me,

"Mama don't I look beautiful in this chapstick?"

I turned to see where she got the chapstick from and saw this in her hands:

Immediately I started laughing. She brought tears to my eyes when she says in all seriousness while smacking her lips together, "but it really doesn't taste very good."

And that my friends was my labor day laugh.

Thrity-three and a Half

This past week has been momentous for many reasons. One reason is that I am officially back to work and not ready for students on Tuesday. However even though I am now teaching 6th grade instead of my usual 7th and 8th I am not a rookie teacher and will some how dazzle the students as they walk through the door half asleep still on their summer snoozing schedules.

Other big news is that the boys in our house reached some age milestones this past week.

Mike turned 33 on Sunday
and
Samuel is 6 months TODAY!!!

Both of these guys bring our family so much joy. Sam he justs melts my heart with his babbling, giggles and smiles and Mike well he has a special place in my heart as a great husband and father. Happy birthday polo guys! Like father...like son. : )

As for official stats for Sam...he now weighs 16 lbs 2 oz. and is 26.1 inches long. The official stats for Mike are..weight: hmmm not sure.....height: 70 inches tall. At least I think so. I guess I could check his license for the info...but as we all know those things are never accurate anyway.
