Almost everyone has a lucky number. For some it is their birthday and others their anniversary. Some people choose the number of kids they have or some complicated product of cats, dogs and their ACT score. For most people lucky numbers are just fun and something people choose only out of superstition. There are numbers people tend to avoid and numbers people pick more often than not. Personally I cannot say if I have a lucky number...I guess I would gravitate towards the birthday option. Mike has a softball number. I know I have heard why he is number twenty-four but honestly I really cannot remember the reason behind it.
Who knows which numbers our children will prefer? It will be interesting to see if Natalie and Amelia tend to agree of their numeral of fortune. Sam, well he may not have a choice. The number four would seem like a logical option (born March 4th) or maybe twenty four after his Dad. Though I have this feeling that Sam may fall into the large group of people who place their faith in the number seven. Why do I think this? The photos below may have influenced me just a bit.

For those of you who do not have microscopic vision it says...
"Sam, Dream Big - Joe Mauer 7"
...and in case you were wondering...yes...it's the real deal.
How you ask?
Well, Sam is fortunate enough to having loving Godparents with connections.
This jersey was a gift for his first birthday.
I am not sure who loves it more...Mike, my Dad, my brother, Mike's Dad,
Mike's brother, my co-workers, the neighbors, the mailman, (I think you get the picture).
And if you do not live in our fine state of MN and have no idea who I am talking about
you need to get educated (in reality I just did when I confirmed the following statement).
Joe Mauer was the American League 2009 Most Valuable Player
amongst other awards and titles for the year. ; )
Only time will tell if this jersey and the # 7 will be the lucky one for our little Sam!
